Thomas Alva Edison, the youngest of four siblings, was born on February 11, 1847, in Milan.
Was an American inventor and businessman. He developed many devices that greatly influenced life around the world, including the phonograph, the motion picture camera, and a long-lasting, practical electric light bulb.
Thomas Edison is the quintessential American inventor. Before he died, he gave us the phonograph, the transmitter for the telephone speaker, an improved lightbulb, and key elements of motion-picture apparatus, as well as other bright inventions. He also created the world's first industrial research laboratory.
